Introduction

My Parking Buddy is designed to help you save and return to a parking location. We aim to keep data handling simple and easy to understand.

Information the app stores

The app may store parking information you choose to save, including parking start and completion times, parking duration or expiry, map coordinates, place or street details, floor or level, bay or zone, nearby landmarks, notes, a main photo and additional photos.

How information is used

This information is used to provide the app’s core features, including displaying saved parking details, calculating parking time, showing the saved parking marker, estimating walking time and distance, opening walking directions and keeping searchable parking History.

Data storage and accounts

My Parking Buddy does not require a custom account. Parking records are designed to be stored locally on your device, and photos are designed to be stored within the app’s local storage.

Location

Location access is requested when needed to save a parking position, display your current position, estimate walking distance or provide directions. The app is not designed to continuously track your location in the background.

Camera and Photos

Camera access is used only when you choose to take a parking photo. Photos access is used only when you choose an existing image.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

Microphone and Speech Recognition access are used when you choose to dictate parking details or notes. Spoken audio may be processed by Apple’s system speech services subject to Apple’s terms and privacy practices.

Apple Maps and system services

The app uses Apple services such as Maps, Location, Photos and Speech Recognition when required for features you choose. Use of those services is also subject to Apple’s privacy policies and device settings.

Website cookies

The website may use essential technologies to operate. With consent, analytics or advertising cookies may be used to understand site usage or support the project.

Advertising and app promotion

My Parking Buddy is intended to be free to use with no hidden subscription costs. Small adverts or promotions for other apps may be shown to help cover development and running costs. If third-party advertising services are enabled, they may use their own technologies subject to their policies.

Third-party links

The app or website may link to services such as Apple Maps, the Apple App Store and the main Travel Tools & Tips website. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those services.

Children’s privacy

My Parking Buddy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Deleting information

You can delete individual parking sessions from History. Deleting a parking session also removes the photos stored for that session. Removing the app from your device will normally remove its locally stored app data, subject to your device and backup settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date.
